SEDUM PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Best time to plant is spring or fall. 2. Sedum looks best in clusters, so plant in grouping of three or more. 3. Plant it in a location with full sun to light shade. 4. Prepare the garden bed, loosening soil. 5. Be sure the soil is light and well draining. 6. Depth of hole should be 12”- 15”. 7. Mix in a 2”- 4” layer of compost. 8. Space plants 6” to 2’ apart (depends on the variety). 9. Remove plant from its container, Carefully. 10. Be sure top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. 11. Gently fill soil in around the root ball. 12. Firm the soil lightly. 13. Water thoroughly. SEDUM CARE A. Apply a thin layer of compost each spring, followed by a 2-inch layer of mulch to retain moisture and control weeds. B. Divide Sedum plants every 3 to 4 years as new growth begins in the spring, lifting plants and  1.Older plants tend to split in the center if they have not been divided.dividing them into clumps. C. Remove seed heads in spring when the new growth begins to show. D. Water plants during the summer if rainfall is less than 1 inch per week. E. After the first killing frost, cut stems back to an inch or two above soil line.
